Adam’s connection with education began at Kurnai College, where he developed a strong love of mathematics and science and achieved an outstanding ATAR of 97.10. Even as a student, Adam had a desire to become a teacher. However, encouraged to pursue his strengths in science, he completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne in 2005, majoring in Chemistry and Mathematics.
Following university, Adam joined the Victoria Police Force, where he achieved Dux of the Police Academy. While working in the Police Force, he continued his studies and completed a Graduate Diploma of Education at Monash University. It was through his classroom placements during this degree that Adam rediscovered his passion for teaching.
In 2009, Adam returned to Kurnai College as a teacher at the Precinct Campus, teaching VCE Physics and Mathematics. His passion for education quickly extended beyond the classroom, and in his second year he enthusiastically took on a range of student welfare responsibilities. He went on to become a Year 7 Leading Teacher at Kurnai College’s Churchill Campus before taking on senior leadership roles at Maffra Secondary College and eventually serving as a College Principal at Lowanna Secondary College.
Today, Adam is a strategic and values-driven education executive with more than two decades of experience leading transformation across education, government and the not-for-profit sector. He is currently a Director at the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership, a legislated statutory authority responsible for leadership development and professional learning across Victoria’s education system. In this role, Adam has led statewide initiatives focused on executive capability, system reform and organisational excellence, and in 2025–26 developed a business case that secured $49 million in additional funding for the Academy.
Adam is also an Adjunct Senior Practitioner with Federation University, providing strategic and policy advice, guest lecturing, research support and contributing to degree program content reviews. He serves as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund, providing stewardship of multi-million-dollar financial portfolios, strong governance and community partnerships.
A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and MBA Dux, Adam brings a combination of strategic foresight, systems thinking and disciplined execution to his leadership. His work is underpinned by a strong belief in building capability, trust and confidence, and creating high-performing organisations that deliver meaningful outcomes for students, staff and communities.
Outside of his professional life, Adam lives in regional Victoria with his wife and son. An award-winning photographer from another era, he continues to enjoy capturing stories through images. He also has a passion for sport, fitness, music and spending time with close friends and family.
